Big Idea: Jesus wants me to follow him.

Bible Basis: Luke 5:1-11

Key Verse: “Come (motion to come with one hand, then the other) and follow me (march in place),” Jesus said. “I will send you out (pretend to cast with fishing pole) to fish for people (pretend to reel in with fishing pole).” Matthew 4:19 (extend hands like you’re holding a book).

OPENING PRAYER

Lord, open now my heart to hear, And through your Word to me draw near. Let me your Word ever pure retain; Let me your child and heir remain. All this I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.

BIBLE LESSON VIDEO

ASK THESE QUESTIONS:

  1. Have you ever been fishing before? If so, what was it like? If not, would you like to go fishing?

  2. In today’s story, Simon left his fishing boat and nets to follow Jesus. If you were Simon, would have done that? Why or why not?
