Good Friday Worship Service

Friday, april 2nd – 7:00 pm

Good Friday is the solemn celebration of the Lord’s suffering and death on the cross, but we do so with a triumphant note—for we know in his resurrection, Christ has conquered sin, death, and the devil. The Tenebræ (ten’ eh bray) service is an ancient rite of the Church. The Latin word “tenebræ” means “darkness.” During this subdued service we remember that God the Father cloaked the land with darkness during the death of his Son (Matthew 27:45). This service is a time for prayerful meditation. There are moments of silence for meditation on the magnitude of Christ’s sacrificial love.

We are offering two Easter worship services this year, at 8:30am and 10:15am (identical services). Both services are open for safe in-person worship (sign up below). The 10:15 service will also be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook.

Between the two Easter services, we will have a COVID-smart coffee hour from 9:30 to 10:00am. At the same time, there will also be a fun and safe Easter scavenger hunt for the kids!

We have limited seating available this year for our in-person worship services so that we can maintain a safe distance between families.

IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND ONE OF OUR EASTER WORSHIP SERVICES IN-PERSON, YOU MUST REGISTER USING THE APPROPRIATE LINK BELOW. If you are going to worship with us online, there is no need to register.
