Easter 2019 postcard - FRONT.jpg

There are certain events that stick in one’s mind. Events that when they occur, change everything. You remember not only everything that happened, but how that event changed the rest of your life. The birth of a child, the dream job offer, the death of a loved one. Easter is one of those events. It is so much more than chocolate bunnies and colorful eggs. It is an event that changed everything.

Connected by grace, through faith, to our risen Lord, we rejoice in the victory of the resurrection and in full confidence of our own resurrection from the dead.

Good Friday Worship Service (april 19) -  7:00 pm

Good Friday is the solemn celebration of the Lord’s suffering and death on the cross, but we do so with a triumphant note—for we know in his resurrection, Christ has conquered sin, death, and the devil. The Tenebræ (ten’ eh bray) service is an ancient rite of the Church. The Latin word “tenebræ” means “darkness.” During this service the candles will be extinguished and lights will be progressively dimmed. In this we remember that God the Father cloaked the land with darkness during the death of his Son (Matthew 27:45).This service is a time for prayerful meditation. There are moments of extended silence for meditation on the magnitude of Christ’s sacrificial love.
